Leeches in my mouth
Well today I went for a regular visit to one of my doctors. This lady is not like your normal doctor. This one has a jar full of leeches. These are good leeches. They like to find something bad and then they suck the blood out. In the process of doing that they inject a liquid which has great healing properties. Its looks a bit gross. You can't brush your teeth before you go and can't eat for a few hours afterwards. But these leeches can be used all over your body and of course in your mouth, on your gums etc.
Has anyway else every tried this?
I've only hear about them in recent years when they are used on people who have had limbs detached/reattached. The leeches suck out the bad blood and help the limb get new, healthy blood. I haven't heard about using leeches in dentistry. What country are you in?
Yeah I have heard the same. I'm an Aussie living in Russia. :)
That's surprising to me. I would expect something like this in China or one of the.... hmmm how do you say it... one of the "oriental" Asian countries. Apologies to any Asians reading this, I don't know the correct term for that group of countries.
Do you think the leeches helped you? And would you do it again?
I get it. Yes it very much helps. This is the 3rd time I have done it.
I wonder if they do it here because I have a bad tooth that affects the gums around it.
Thanks for the post, you gave me something to think about.
Yeah probably. But a normal dentist wouldn't offer it I doubt as they are cheap as chips. You would need an alternative dentist etc.
