The wayfarer, scientific name viburnum lantana, is a species of tree in the viburnum native to central, southern, and western Europe (northern Yorkshire, England), northwestern Africa, and southwestern Asia.

Also called wayfaring tree, it is a deciduous shrub or small tree 4-5 m tall.

The leaves are opposite, lance-shaped, simple ovals with finely serrated edges. They are 6-13 cm long and 4-9 cm wide, densely hairy on the underside but less so on the upper surface.

This plant is usually grown as an ornamental plant because of its beautiful flowers and fruits.
