Tulip Tree (Liriodendron Tulipifera)
The tulip tree, with the botanical name Liriodendron tulipifera, is the North American representative and tallest eastern hardwood of the two species of the genus Liriodendron.
It is also known as American tulip tree, tulipwood, tuliptree, tulip poplar, whitewood, fiddletree, and yellow-poplar.
The leaves are simple, alternate, pinnate, and 125 to 150 mm long and wide.
This tree is sometimes called the "violin tree" because of its odd violin-shaped leaves, with curved base, and cut ends.
