Lesser periwinkle, scientific name vinca minor, is a species of flowering plant in the dogbane family. It is also known as dwarf periwinkle and is native to central and southern Europe, as well as southwest Asia.

The plant is a small subshrub that spreads along the ground and roots along the trunk. It forms large clonal colonies, sometimes spreading randomly upward, but never coiling or climbing.

Because of its evergreen foliage and beautiful flowers in spring and summer, lesser periwinkle is commonly grown as a ground cover plant in temperate gardens. It is easy to grow and its thick foliage keeps out most weeds.

Another closely related species is vinca major. It is almost identical, but larger in all parts and also has relatively broad leaves with hairy edges.
