Japanese photinia with the scientific name photinia glabra, is a small evergreen tree from the Rosaceae family.
It is a small evergreen broadleaf tree, which usually grows 3 to 5 meters tall.
The leaves are alternate, oval in shape, pointed at both ends, leathery and glossy, with finely serrated edges.
It is 5 to 10 centimeters long, and when young is reddish and beautiful.
Apart from Japan, this tree also grows naturally in China (southeast and south-central), Thailand, and Burma.
