Japanese Elm (Zelkova Serrata)

Japanese elm with scientific name zelkova serrata, is a species of the genus Zelkova native to Japan, Korea, eastern China, and Taiwan.

Also called Japanese zelkova, keyaki, or keaki, it is a medium-sized deciduous tree that usually reaches a height of about 30 meters.

Its leaves are simple, ovate to oblong-ovate, and have serrated edges, hence the name "serrata".

Zelkova is characterized by a short main stem, few branching branches, and a vase-like shape.
