Cowbane (Oxypolis Rigidior)
Cowbane, whose botanical name is oxypolis rigidior, is a species of flowering plant in the carrot family that is native to eastern North America.
Also known as common water dropwort, stiff cowbane, or pig-potato, it is a perennial herb 2 to 6 feet tall.
The leaves are compound and, with oddly pinnate with 7-11 leaves.
The leaves have different shapes and hence are difficult to identify.
This plant is called cowbane because it is toxic to mammals.
