The making of a leader-Part 1

Good morning lovelies, trust you all had a beautiful night rest. Hello from Nigeria 🙋🙋.

So this morning, I will be sharing few tips to note on our journey of becoming a leader. Due to the sensitivity of this topic, I will be discussing it in parts.

With that in mind, for part one, I will be discussing the basic assumptions that individuals who are seeking to become leaders must be aware of;

being a leader is not in having the title but having the mantle.

What most people fail to recognize is that, it's not the name or title that qualifies you to be a leader, rather it is your ability to carry out the task which is entrusted to you. It's very common to find an individual with a position or rank yet knows next to nothing of what's required of him in that position. Meanwhile, there are other individuals who are carrying out operational activities with no title attached to them..
What makes you a leader is not the title attached to that position but how you can confidently handle and effect what is required of you there. Being a leader is not based on your background but your availability to answer to the responsibilities.
Little wonder John Maxwell said;

leadership is not about title, position or flowcharts; it is about one life influencing another positively.

Leaders are made not born.

This is another conception, that to become a leader you must be aware of. Individuals are so used to the saying born to rule that they believe to be a leader is something they were born with, so in the fullness of time, it will spring forth, therefore doing nothing to mould themselves. That's wrong.
Leadership or being a leader is not endowed but rather a leader is groomed. That's why to be a good leader, you must constantly be a learner and a reader.

to be a true leader, you must possess the art of learning.

Seek out those things that you are drawn to. Develop your passion; discover your purpose. If you don't raise your goals and work towards it; any direction will be fit for you. So identify what you want and you will know the path to follow.

Don't fight in their terrain.

To be a leader, you have to play in your leveling field. Lean towards your strength and activate ur leadership roles in the part you are conversant with. You cannot seek to be a leader in a field yet pursuing another field.
Take a look at David in the Bible, David couldn't fight in Saul's war uniforms but had to go with what he was familiar with.
So to be a good leader, learn to operate in your terrain and not in the terrain of others, your strong parts. There will be a sense of fulfillment.

Always remember, that to be a leader, humility is a daily, basic and necessary ingredient. You will never be a good leader if you are not humble.

In summary, let this statement guide you through..
leadership is not about population; the bottom is always crowded but the top is very spacious as only few attain it
