Hey guys. With school just around the corner I thought to write a quick review of a laptop that I feel would be a good budget friendly option for those of us that may not have the deepest pockets.

The Acer Aspire E15 is priced at a very reasonable $600 considering what’s under the hood. A solid i5 processor with 8gigs of ram will more than suffice when completing day to day tasks. The E15 features a MX150 which is equivalent to a desktop GT1030 to boost its graphics performance. The GPU in this machine is sufficient for light gaming on low to medium settings. I believe titles like Overwatch, Fortnite and CS GO will run smoothly. The E15 has a 6 cell battery which I’ve heard can last up to 12 hours on a single charge. I have my reservations about that but I do believe you will comfortably get more than 6 hours of normal use. Obviously battery life will take a hit when performing heavy tasks such as gaming.

The wide array of ports that can be found on the E15 are a CD ROM, yes that’s right, a CD ROM in this day and age, 3 usb 3.0 ports, a headphone jack, RJ 45 to connect to a network, HDMI port, VGA port and usb type C port. The usb type C is not a thunderbolt 3 port; however you can still hook it up to an external monitor. The E15 also comes with a white backlit keyboard. Please note that the port selection may differ depending in the item model number selected on Acer’s website.

Having done a bit of research it is easy to tell that this machine packs quite a punch considering the price. It is not as light and thin as some of the other competitors, its plastic build may not be on par with the build quality of some other laptops out there but all things considered this is a noteworthy machine to seriously consider for day to day tasks.

I have the i7 version of this. It's really good for the money. I have zero complains after using if for a few months. It does have very good battery life, but you're right 12 hours is pushing it. 9 hours is more realistic.

Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it :)
