wealth of regional languages in aceh
Aceh Province or formerly known as Nangroe Aceh Darussalam Province (NAD) has a number of wealth, both in the form of objects and non-financial wealth. The wealth makes Aceh known to foreign countries.
The wealth of objects, for example, Aceh has a number of abundant natural wealth such as agricultural products, plantations, and catches of fishermen are exported to outside the province of Aceh. Likewise, non-cultural assets such as arts, languages, and cultures owned by the province of Aceh are now recognized by Unesco, such as the saman dance owned by the Gayo community.
Especially the non-bilingual wealth of language, the Banda Aceh Language Center Team (2012: 38) concludes that in Aceh there are seven languages, namely (1) Acehnese, (2) Javanese, (3) Minangkabau, (4) Gayo, 5) Batak language, (6) Devayan language, and (7) Sigulai language. Of the seven languages, four of them are the native speakers of the Acehnese.
Based on the research of the Aceh Language Center Team, the number of languages in Aceh actually decreases. Previous research conducted by Akbar et al. (1985) notes that there are ten local languages in Aceh:
(1) the language of Aceh
(2) Gayo language
(3) Alas language
(4) Singkel language
(5) Kluet language
(6) Island language
(7) Java language
(8) Batak language
(9) Devayan language
(10) Sigulai language
Based on the above two descriptions, in contrast to the statement Wildan (2002) which states that in Aceh found nine languages. The nine languages are the languages of Aceh, the Gayo language, the Alas language, the Tamiang language, the Aneuk Jamèe language, the Kluet language, the Singkil language, the Simeulu language, and the Haloban language. Meanwhile, the results of a study conducted by SLI International (2006) languages in Aceh include the languages of Aceh, Alas-Kluet Batak, Gayo, Minangkabau (Aneuk Jamèe), Sikule and Simeulue.
Many regional languages in Aceh are caused by the geographical location of Aceh province surrounded by oceans and the diverse communities that occupy the province. For example, the Minangkabau language contained in the province of Aceh is called Aneuk jamee, herbal (guest). Jamee is a Minang language that has interfered and interfered with local language code. However, for the people of Aceh, this Minang language is called jamee language, or herbal language.
So is the case with Batak language. Particularly in Subulussalam municipality there is Pakpak Boang language which is Batak language with Pakpak dialect. However, since it is located in the province of Aceh, Pakpak Boang is the language of the province.
