Translation Chain. How to bridge language communities with blockchain.

I see a great deal of Korean writing on Steem. I use Google Translate and try to get through it but in the end the best I can do is figure out what someone is talking about. I can't really understand what they want to say about it and certainly I lose any sense of how they want to sound.

So, what if bi-lingual people could post improved translations, and gain upvotes by doing it? It could be ongoing, with people improving each other's translations. Combining this with the technology that drives Google translate could greatly improve automatic translations. Machine translation depends on good examples of human translation, so after a while we can read each other's writing almost like native speakers by using the now brilliant machine translators and flagging confusing passages to bring in the pros.

Nuance is of course impossible to translate. The idea of nuance is those things that live between the words and are uniquely understood by groups people who get each other. But good translation can try to find analogues across languages, and just kind of getting nuance helps us understand each other more.

In time this sort of service would help all of us learn how to write in ways that will be easier to understand across cultures.
