You have to honor your language and culture
DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged her to increase the practice of language, culture, art and literature besides promoting its practice.
He said that if we can not give our language, culture, art and literature status, if we can not do better, then as a nation, we will not be able to improve in the world court.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this while inaugurating 'Book Fair' of the Bengali Academy at the Bangla Academy premises on Thursday (February 1st).
Inaugurating the two-day international literary conference to be held on 22 February and 23 February, he said.
Prior to inaugurating this year, the Prime Minister handed over the medal with the Bangla Academy Literary Award. The book fair is being organized at Bangla Academy Square and historic Suhrawardy Udyan by around 5 lakh sq ft.
Expressing hope that the artistic culture of Bengalis would reach beyond the boundaries of Bangladesh, the Prime Minister said, this fair opens the doors of knowledge.
'Book Fair is not just buying books, it attracts books. Expands the field of literary practice, lets know the unknown. So, this book fair is our life fair, 'he said.
The Prime Minister said, there is a chance to publish books of young writers in Ekushey Book Fair. Readers are created with the creation of new writers.
