Haneul Park, Seoul, South Korea

in #landscapephotography6 years ago (edited)

Haneul Park (하늘공원) is a well-known attraction in Seoul, South Korea. It is mainly a pasture is covered with silver grass (eulalias) and wild flowers. It also has five wind-powered generators that provide power to the park and its facilities. Once a mountain of garbage, it is now a thriving green hill with numerous lookout points offering views of Seoul, including the N Seoul Tower, Bukhansan Mountain, and the Han River.

I recently visited the park during early autumn, which is arguably the best time to go because of the peak growth of silver grass. Coincidentally, the day I went was also the last day this year's Eulalia Festival (서울억새축제). The park stayed open later than usual and the silver grass was lit with bright colors.

Here are some photos from that afternoon/evening visit to Haneul Park.

Beauty comes with some good thought. Hats off to the brain behind such a beautiful transformation of a garbage dump into a romantic place. Hardly anyone would belive that this place was once a garbage dump place.
With all these beautiful pictures i thoroughly say you have some amazing moment spent in the park...loved all the pictures especially where the grass were lit with blue....for a moment i thought it was digitally done but later i read that it was due to festival season that the park was lit up with all those attractive colors.....thanks for sharing dear....steem on 👍

That means a great transformation. Your government did a great job in not just restoring but also developing the area.

I love the effect of lights on the Eulalia grasses. It is very colorful. Is there a specific timeframe or dates when Eulalia Festival is celebrated there?

Wow!
What a transformation, I can't believe my own eyes
Someone please take me to Haneul Park
Lol
It's a lovely view

It is nice to hear that being in past a place of garbage now it transformed into park that supported with wind-powered generators. I believe the people who live there were quite happy with this decision and obviously love to have a place for walking just like that couple who seems to be in love, sharing a kiss among the high grass.

What a beautiful place! I love the contrast between the peaceful and serene park, and the big city across the water. It looks like you spent there whole day? I'm wondering as you're sharing photos from day and night as well. Or have you visited it more often?

Do you know those two people on the photo? It looks like you set them in the scene. If it was a coincidence then you were very lucky :)

I like how the park is illuminated during the night. Such places are rather scary when it's dark but those colored lights make it invited even during late hours.

Thank you for sharing!

Lovely shots @roytc123. I love the different colours of the silver grass! Is this part of the Eulalia Festival attraction? And the wind-powered generators look majestic in your photos.

Howdy from Texas roytc123! Hey this is quite the park there, I mean that grass is the tallest grass I've ever seen, it looks like it's about 12 feet tall!

All the shots are wonderful and they look award winning to me. The last three photos have colored grass, how are the colors created?
