The North View of Arranmore Is Truly Dramatic
Arranmore is one of the most subtly dramatic lighthouses in Ireland. Seen from the island itself or from the south, it doesn't look like much. But from the north, as in this image, with the jagged fins of rock running towards you, few sights are more arresting.
The island is the second largest around the coast, after Achill in Co. Mayo. Sadly, like most offshore islands in Ireland, it's experiencing a population decline as young people move away.
