Ireland Has Fjords (You Read That Correctly)

A spotlight of sunlight shines on Connemara, Co. Galway. Taken on the road to Leenaun, looking towards the village. Leenaun is on the southern shore of Killary harbour, a 16km fjord. That's right. Ireland has fjords.

While the drama of the sky definitely adds to the feel of this photograph, what appeals most to me about it is the subtlety of the light on the gentle contours of the mountains.
