Visiting Hoi An Beach in Winter
Hello Everyone.
For those of you that have visited Vietnam, you will know how chaotic everything is, people everywhere, the traffic is crazy, with horns being blasted non -stop. So by the time we got to Hoi An, we decided we needed a bit of time out, don't get me wrong, Hoi An is an amazing city to visit, really colourful and full of lanterns and a definite must for anyone visiting Vietnam.
We decided to head to An Bang beach which is about 4 kilometres from Hoi An, it is also more peaceful and less developed than the well know Cai Dai beach. Even in Winter they put out sunbeds, which cost around 100 vnd each to hire for the day. They will also serve beer and food at the sunbeds. Being winter it was pretty cold so we just grabbed a beer and admired the view before exploring the village.
The sea was pretty rough, and the round fishing boats local to the area had packed up for the season.
Just back from the beach are an array of restaurants, hippy bars, houses and lot's of bed and breakfast style places. It takes about 5 minutes to walk around this little beach village. I can only imagine the loud music, packed and busy beaches in summer but we just about had this place for ourselves to enjoy.
We booked into a place called Sea Weed Homestay for just 20$ a night and ended up staying 3. This place had the most comfortable beds in Vietnam, super friendly owners and free bicycles. Bikes are essential at An Bang beach, because after the exploring the village, one can get out and about and get lost in the rice fields of Hoi An or just enjoy having the whole beach to yourself for a day.
Thanks for visiting and hope you enjoyed the read.
