Beautiful Sand dunes of the Namib Desert
Back before I actually made a trip to one, before I actually paid one a visit, the mere mention of the word desert would conjure up images of fire and brimstone.
I could not imagine how beautiful a desert could be or how unique that beauty is!
When you stand on top of one of the highest dunes in the world, you feel like a conqueror and a champion. To get to the top is no small feat, trudging for what feels like hours (it took about 45 min) in the soft red sand takes a toll on the ole body, but the views from "up there" make it totally worth the effort.
As I go through this life (I am now in my 42nd year) I am finding it increasingly easy to find the beauty in the things around me, I am taking notice of how important it is to live in the now and how even MORE important it is not to dwell on the past.
The past is what has shaped us into what we are today, in this present moment in time.
It is the present that will shape us into who and what we will become in the future.
Dune 45
You can see how small the people are on the ridge of the dune
As time goes on, much like in our existence, the dunes are shaped by the winds of the present, ever shifting and ever changing - but always moving forward toward the end...
