Photo Of The Day - Day 7 - Travel doesn't always go as planned.. But is always worth it!
Today I wanted to talk about travel and how things don't always go as planned. A couple years ago my Friend Trevor Carlson who is on the Big Wave Surfing tour invited me out to Chile to shoot some surf photos and video. Our globetrotter journalist buddy Matt Rott joined us for the trip.
We arrived in Chile and headed to a little surf town called Pichilemu and stayed in an awesome beach cabin. The first 3 days we were waiting for the swell to arrive so we traveled around the coast of Chile with Legendary Chilean surfer Rafael Tapia as our guide.
Rafael Tapia surfing a chilean point break
He showed us some secret spots which were beautiful point breaks that looked like they could be amazing with the right swell.
That 3rd day Trevor got super sick to the point where he could barely stay awake and couldn't really even communicate with us. We decided it would be best to drive back to our beach cabin in Pichilemu so that we could be closer to a pharmacy in case we needed medicine. That night both Matt and I caught whatever Trevor had.

For 4 days straight all 3 of us were so sick we could barely get out of bed. The swell finally arrived and we were all so sick the most we could do was watch these beautiful waves come in from our Balcony.
Here is the Surf Break in Pichelemu called Punta De Lobos
The message I wanted to get out today was that no matter how a trip goes, you always get something out of Traveling. We might not of got the waves we traveled out to Chile for but we got to experience the culture and see a beautiful part of the world and meet new friends who treated us like family.
Here are some more images I was able to capture on our trip when I was feeling a bit better before we flew home.

Sucks to be sick at a time like this. But it doesn't always go as planned indeed.
Looks like a really beautiful place, I hope ur enjoying your vacation x
