Wildlife at Tortuguero
One of the many birds on the lagoon at Tortuguero, Costa Rica. Our stay at the Mawamba Lodge included a guided boat tour of the lagoon of which there are quite a lot of different types of wildlife to see. Although at times a lot of the animals were a bit hard to see because they seemed to like to stay hidden and so you would only catch glimpses of them. There were many types of birds , reptiles and monkeys pretty much anywhere you went. And you could hear the howler monkeys quite often , seeing them was a different story though , we did manage to catch a quick glimpse on our boat tour , but not long enough (or close enough for that matter) to actually get a picture.
