Landscape of Costa Rica
After our stay at Tortuguero , we flew back to a town right outside of San Jose called Alajuela and from there we hired a shuttle bus to take us to Monteverde (which I believe translates into Green Mountain). And it certainly was. It is located to the Northwest of San Jose , and is pretty much in (or next to anyway) a big cloud forest. The town there , where we stayed , is actually called Santa Elena , and not too far from many of the tours you can do there , including zip-lining and canopy tours.
The image is a shot from the side of the road on our way there, which took about 4 to 5 hours. It was pretty fast on the highways , until you hit traffic anyways :) , but once off the highway the roads were quite winding and slow. And if you get motion sick (as I do) I would recommend taking some motion sickness medicine with you.
