 On Sept. 25, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (South Kurdistan) is expected to hold its long-awaited referendum on independence. Kurds are the largest ethnic group  without a state of their own. For over a century they have been persecuted, oppressed and massacred by their occupiers. Now it is a chance for them to decide for their future and freedom.
