"sunset" of their lives

My parents are just old and as some people say, they are in the "sunset" of their lives and that phrase alone doesn't give me any cheer because they are the source of my mental well-being as if there will be a very big gap that will taken from my life the moment that one of them would not outlive me because my mother for one reason has been very protective of me and that the three of us had spent so many years together and naturally (for me)

it will be a hard thing for us to be left out by each other considering that I know that my parents also relies on me on things such as the possibility of renovating if not building a new and better house here in the place.
