Bananas grow after the flowers come out. The first part to grow is the ovary which is known as the comb. The growth of these combs occurs slowly and sequentially, where after the first comb comes out, the second comb will follow, the third comb, and so on.

When the growth of the banana comb has almost reached the flowering area, at that time the heart of the banana tree will be cut because it is no longer able to produce comb anymore. In one comb, usually the number of bananas produced is between 10 and 20.
