I pulled out of the ground the five-gallon bucket filled with run-off water from the softener in order to empty it. When I returned to put the bucket back in the hole there was grasshopper stuck inside the bottom of the hole. The hole was too deep and try as he might he couldn't hop out.

I put a stick down into the hole for him to grasp onto so I could pull him out but he thought it was something to harm him. He kept dodging the stick in a panic. Finally, he had no choice, he hopped onto the stick and I pulled him out and put the bucket back in the hole.

Isn't that just like the conditioned souls, you and I. Help is coming but we think it is something that is going to harm us.

When we have no choice we surrender.
