¨The Taxi Driver¨ vs Venezuela

in #kr7 years ago

Hi, friends of Steemit.

I know I have a lot of analysis in this time without uploading a post. The truth has lacked inspiration, but today I want to talk to you about a South Korean movie ¨ 택시 운전사 / Taeksi Woonjunsa ¨

This movie is based on real events and tells the story of a taxi driver who accompanies a German reporter to investigate the massacre in Gwangju.

As all those who have read me before know that I am a lover of South Korean culture, I like not only their culture and traditions, but also their history as it is a country that has gone through a lot and still managed to emerge surpassing each obstacle.

South Korea has gone through events such as:

The First and Second World War, The division of the kingdoms [[Korea was divided into 3 kingdoms: Goguryeo (고구려), Baekje (백제) and Silla (신라).], The division of the two Koreas (South Korea and Korea of the North) and the invasion of the Japanese who invaded the country, killed, raped and did what they wanted for many years; and the internal wars between which is The Gwangju Massacre.

I'll tell you a little about the history of Gwangju (광주)

Gwangju, which is one of the metropolitan cities of South Korea and today we see modern and prosperous also had its moment of pain in the year 1980, when the people rose up against the government of Chun Doo-hwan, taking the control of the city with strong protests that lasted from May 18 to 27, 1980.

In this film we can see events not very far from what we see in the protests that occur in Venezuela: Military torturing and killing the people, distorted information, limited or sensed in social networks, humiliation, etc ... By the simple fact of do not agree with the political management that was carried out at that time. It was a fact of which nothing was known, but which is remembered with pain among the citizens of Korea and the rest of the world. After more than 1,000 deaths of which in history only 160 are recognized, after so many wounded, after so much fighting, not only Gwangyu, but Korea was free. and justice was done.

Message To My Venezuela:

If Gwangyu, being only one city, he fought and was free. Venezuela, which is a complete country, can also. If they could get out of that regime and overcome it, we can too!

My Venezuela, do not give up!
