Roche limit

: The distance that the satellite can approach without breaking the mechanism of the parent planet.

A weaker satellite, such as a comet, could be broken up when it passes within its Roche limit.

When the satellite reaches the Roche limit, its shape changes because of the tidal of the planet.

For the example) The Moon is at the limit of Roche's orbit, creating a shift in the tide.
