Best Places to Take Pictures in Seoul

There are a lot of hidden places in Seoul that are great for taking pictures. Those that have an Instagram account will really appreciate these locations that not a lot of people know about. Those that are visiting Seoul should check out a few of these places below.

National Museum of Modern and Contempory Art. (MMCA)

This is one of my favorite museums in Seoul and it is Samcheongdong. The exhibitions are constantly changing. For those that are visiting Korea might not know this, but the last Wednesday of every month is culture day in Korea. This means you can visit museums for free or a discounted price. The MMCA is free.

Gyeongbokgung Palace

It is regarded as the best palace to visit in Seoul. It is full of history and definitely worth checking out. If you walk out of Gyeongbokgung Palace and keep going down you will see a monument of King Sejong. I recommended see this before you leave. After you take a picture with King Sejong you can walk further down and come across Cheonggyecheon a man-made river which is great for going for a stroll.

Leeum Museum

Located near Hangangjin Station. The Leeum Museum is a mixture of modern and contemporary but also Korean history. The museum is owned by Samsung and they went all out in making sure it visually appealing for visitors.

DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza)

Seoul Fashion week takes place at Dongdaemun Design Plaza. The architecture here is amazing and you will find people taking pictures all over the plaza. It is beautiful at any time of day. At night the fake white flowers are light up which makes for great pictures. They have different exhibitions going on every month so it is good to check it out at least once every month.

Garosu-gil

This place has some of the best cafes in Seoul. The desserts here are really pretty and the shops themselves are very pretty. If you go down the side streets you will see artworks along the walls which is great for taking pictures.

Bukhansan

Located off of Gupabal Station, Bukhansan is a great place for hiking especially in the winter. However every season brings something different. Those that love nature really should check out this place.
