큐브시스템(대표 김동오)이 메신저 기반 서비스 기업인 오제이월드(대표 서철욱)를 관계사로 편입하고 상호협약을 통해 새로운 블록체인 기반 메신저 서비스를 국내외에서 진행하기로 했다. 큐브시스템은 블록체인 생태계를 만드는 것과 동시에 기존에 중앙화된 소셜 미디어를 자사 4세대 블록체인 기술인 '큐브체인'을 적용한다. 조만간 좋은 콘텐츠를 작성한 창작자에게 수익이 돌아갈 수 있도록 하는 것을 목표로 '소셜 블록체인' 서비스를 개발할 예정이라고 밝혔다.

수수료와 중개인 없이 참여자가 직접 콘텐츠를 거래할 수 있는 메신저형 마켓 플레이스, 블록체인 기반 인공지능 챗봇 서비스 등으로 사업 영역을 넓히면서 글로벌 소셜 블록체인 서비스 업체로 거듭 날 계획이다. 김동오 큐브시스템 대표는 “SNS· 콘텐츠 비즈니스 환경에서 P2P 간 거래를 위한 블록체인 기술과 메신저 플랫폼과 협력에서 시너지가 창출될 것” 이라며 “오제이월드가 가진 메신저 서비스와 빅데이터 기반 AI 구현 기술을 중동 지역 국가에 서비스하면서 세계로 전파하겠다” 고 밝혔다.

큐브시스템은 4세대 블록체인 기술인 '큐브체인'을 2년간 개발했다. 큐브체인은 기존 블록체인 구조를 다중방식으로 적재하고 병렬 방식으로 생성 접근하는 고유 알고리즘을 적용해 블록을 생성하고 접근하는 시간을 단축시켜 정보시스템 데이터베이스로 사용하기에 편리한 블록체인 기술이다.

서철욱 오제이월드 대표는 “당사 메신저 위글(Weegle)은 유튜브, 아프리카TV 처럼 방송과 동영상을 플랫폼에서 실시간으로 공유하고 서비스 할 수 있는 차세대 개인 미디어 서비스 플랫폼” 이라고 말했다.
