하루노의 도전, Haruno's Challenge

음악방송 방청을 마치고 나온 아베 하루노는 흥분한 모습이었다. “꼭, 저 무대에 서고 싶어요”라며 발을 굴렸다.

하루노는 아이돌을 꿈꾸는 18살의 일본인이다. 스포츠댄스로 일본 전국대회에서 3연패를 했던 하루노는 한국 아이돌을 알게 되면서 그들의 춤에 반했다. 일본 미야기현에 사는 하루노는 한국 연예기획사의 오디션이 있으면 도쿄와 오사카 등 지역을 가리지 않고 어디든 달려갔다. 결국 한국에 와서 도전하기로 마음먹고 유튜브로 혼자 한국어 공부를 하고 초밥집에서 아르바이트를 하며 돈을 모았다.
She is an 18-year-old Japanese who dreams of the idol. She won three consecutive Japanese national competitions for sports dancing. She knew Korean idols and fell in their dancing. She lives in Miyagi, Japan, where she can go anywhere in Tokyo and Osaka if she auditions for a Korean entertainment agency. After all, she decided to challenge in Korea. She studied Korean by herself and collected money by a part-time job at a sushi restaurant.

‘아코피아’는 하루노와 같은 꿈을 지닌 일본 청소년들이 찾는 곳이다. 한·일 청소년 문화교류 사업을 하던 조규철 아코피아 대표는 “한국 연예계에 관심 있는 일본 청소년들의 문의가 늘어나며 3년 전부터 본격적으로 지원 사업을 시작했다. 이제 매달 일본 청소년 20명 정도가 이곳을 통해 한국 기획사의 문을 두드린다. 지금까지 약 500명이 거쳐갔다”고 말했다.
'Akopia' is a place where Japanese youths with dreams like Haruno are looking for. Representative Cho Kyu-chul Akopia, who was doing business with youth culture exchanges between Korea and Japan, said, "The number of Japanese youth interested in the Korean entertainment industry has been increasing, and I started the support project in earnest three years ago. Now, about 20 Japanese youths are knocking on the doors of Korean companies every month. So far, about 500 people have gone through it. "

하루노는 지난 3월 일주일 일정으로 한국을 다녀갔다. 게스트하우스에 숙소를 잡은 뒤 치즈김밥을 먹으며 다섯 번의 오디션을 치렀다. 그는 같이 오디션에 임하는 다른 일본인 지망생들의 긴장을 풀어주거나 다독여주었다.
Haruno went to Korea in March for a week. She took her accommodation in a guest house and then auditioned five times, eating cheese-gimbap. She relaxed or let the other Japanese aspiring auditioners relax.

기획사 오디션 합격 여부는 일반적으로 보름 뒤에 확인할 수 있지만, 바로 그 자리에서 결정이 날 때도 있다. 하루노도 참석한 한 오디션에서 2명이 현장 합격했다. 하루노는 “어떠냐”는 물음에 밝게 웃으며 “마음에 두던 곳이 아니라 괜찮다”고 답했다. 하지만 어머니와 문자를 주고받는 하루노의 얼굴은 밝지 않았다. 어떤 곳에선 긍정적 답을 들었고 또 다른 곳에서는 계약을 제안받기도 했지만, 결정을 미룬 채 일본에 돌아갔다.
The acceptance of an entertainment agency can usually be confirmed in two weeks, but it is sometimes decided on the spot. In one audition, two candidates passed the field except for Haruno. When I asked her, "How are you?" She smiled brightly and said, "It's okay, not the place I put my heart." But she had a message with her mother and her face was not bright. She heard a positive answer from an entertainment agency and was offered a contract elsewhere, but she went back to Japan without making a decision.
