People really talk like this in the west these days? Jinjja?

Hey guys :) Even though you're not a kind of person who interested in Korean pop culture, you probably have heard of BTS the boy band at least one time!! I know a lot of people on Steemit is more familiar to BTC than BTS tho ;) As BTS is getting super famous, the Korean language is also getting popular to the younger generation in the west. And here comes Hanenglish.

Hanenglish means Korean + English. And I've seen a lot of Kpop fans using this on SNS. Just like this

Wae means why, and jinjja means really.

Oppas and unnies probably the most popular Korean words that people use. Oppa means older brother, and unnie means older sister. We call oppa and unnie to real siblings but also to people who older than us just to be polite. I guess this is a unique way to call somebody and foreigners love these words.

Hahaha so funny because I always use Wae not? It means why not? Wae kinda sounds similar to Why so I love to use this word :) All these scenes are from a game called Episode :)

As a Korean, it's sound so cute that foreigners trying to use Korean in their real conversation. When I'm talking to foreign friends who can speak a little bit of Korean I always mix Korean + English like them!! To me, it's so convenience and fun ;)

How was my short Korean lesson guys? Do you have any friends who using Hanenglish around you? Or any BTS fans? ;)

Last Christmas party we did a present exchange. Everyone had to bring something anonymously, then we played a game and at the end everyone got a random present. I’m still curious who brought that giant BTS poster :D

Oh wow I wonder if you got that BTS poster ;)

Probably happens in some niche corners of the internet, but I feel YouTube comments are the most representative barometer, and that's not happening there.
