I am so happy to introduce new and old Kpop music to you guys. My selections, hopefully, will interest you who like to listen to Kpop music. My focus is not only on new popular kpops but also on what are the behind-the-scenes such as producers(generally formerly well-known singers), their hit songs, how they affected the new generation of Kpop stars etc. And also I like following one musician’s history/background at a time. Such as how he/she got into music industry and who he/she joins the collaborations with, how their synergy gets expressed, how that got into another success, etc.

첫 시간으로, 며칠전 평창 동계올림픽 개회식을 장식한 4명의 Kpop 가수를 소개하겠습니다.
For the first episode, I will introduce four Kpop singers who performed at the opening ceremony of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics a few days ago.

Jeon In-kwon (전인권; born in 1954) is a singer-songwriter and former lead singer of the band Deulgukhwa(들국화 : Wild Chrysanthemums), who were known as the "Beatles” of Korea.

그것만이 내 세상 That’s my own world (released in the band’s first album in 1985)

Lee Eun-mi (이은미; born in 1966) is well known for her song "I Have a Lover" which became very popular in South Korea. The singer is telling to someone she loves “I have a lover even though you may not notice” and that touched the hearts of many women in Korea who were in one way love secretly.

Ha Hyun-woo (하현우, born in 1981) is a singer-song writer. He is the lead vocal and guitarist of a indie rock band, Guckkasten.
In mystery music show ‘King of Mask Singer’
He boasted explosive singing power that could not be seen in any program, setting the record ‘the 9 consecutive championships’ and became very popular immediately after that.

This song <Don’t cry> is originally sung by Korean boy duo, The Cross.
Ha Hyun-woo covered it at the King of Mask Singer and gave the song revival.

Ahn Ji-young(안지영) is the main vocal of
Bolbbalgan4 (볼빨간 사춘기, also known as Blushing Youth), girl duo. The other member is Woo Ji-yoon, a guitarist. They appeared on Superstar K6(Korean audition program) in 2014 before signing a contract with their current agency. Jiyoung and Jiyoon were highschool classmates. The name of their duo was built on the grounds that they wanted to make the kind of pure, honest music that can only be found in adolescence.
