How to customize your Korg Volca!

The important thing is that the knobs that you will use are 6mm in diameter (Check before purchasing)

You will also want knobs less than 20mmx20mm or you can end up with huge knobs overlapping your Korg Volca

The process is as follows and applys for all models, if you need to see the flashing light under the button then purchase Transparent knobs.

WARNING: the small 6mm knobs on the volcas are NOT REMOVABLE, but you can however put another knob over the top as seen at the top right of the picture. Do NOT try to pull out the clear plastic knobs of the volcas, this is only for the silver/black ones!

Stuff needed:

1. Pliers/Something to firmly grip the knobs.
2. 6mm inner-diameter knobs (Available for a few dollars in ebay in packs of 1,5,10 etc)

Note: You must have knobs with an inside diameter of 6mm to slide over the existing ones on the Korg Volca.

Step 1. (Skip this if you are adding knobs ontop of the transparent ones and not taking off the Silver ones)

Simply firmly place the pliers around any of the SILVER knobs on your Korg Volca and gently pull directly up, don't be too hard but also dont be afraid. When the silver cap comes off, wipe it and keep it in a plastic bag or a box incase you'll need it again.

Step 2.

Turn the knobs all the way down so we can match the marker of the knobs we will add, so that the visuals match the marker on the knob to the value on the machine and then while holding the machine from underneath you will want to wriggle your knob and push directly down with a gentle but firm amount of force.

Results:

REMEMBER YOU CANNOT REMOVE THE CLEAR PLASTIC KNOBS!! If you pull them you can break your volca, you should skip step 1 if you are just adding knobs and not modifying the bigger knobs that Korg Volca, EA and MX Series has. This process is the same for most korg products and the 6mm inside diameter knobs should fit on almost anything of Korg.
