The information is definitely conflicting. East Asian history, in general, is difficult to study because every time a regime changes, they completely rewrite it. Also, 0000 instead of 000 and measuring units constantly changing make even numbers difficult to keep track of.
Regime change in East Asian dynasties does lead to history being rewritten. For emperors, there is a need to be mythologized.
For example, Zhu Di of the Ming Dynasty, in order to conceal the illegitimacy of his seizure of the throne, ordered the historian to record the ming dynasty history as he wished.
