Bible knowledge: A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash. Proverbs 15:14
The Bible with its ancient knowledge teaches men that there are people who seek the truth and people who seek to be deceived; it could be said that there are truths, half-truths, and beautiful lies, and for each thing there is a different audience.
Addressing fools with truth and wisdom can often be a mistake, especially when foolishness is deeply rooted in ignorance and superstition; for this type of persons there are cheap philosophies and all those superficial activities that propose things without any sense.
And it is for this reason that the social phenomenon of oppression arises, that is, the injustice as a social system. Heresy, that is, the teaching of error, is invariably linked to corruption; and the Bible teaches wisely a consequence about this problem: "All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast" Proverbs 15:15. In other words there is no happiness or blessedness for fools and ignorant people.
The knowledge of immortality ( "In kinship with wisdom there is immortality" Wisdom 8:17 ) and eternal life are reserved for the highest souls, those who have achieved gnosis and the spiritual enlightenment.
Following this spiritual thought, the Book of Proverbs in the Bible teaches a beautiful phrase full of wisdom: "A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash" Proverbs 15:14.
This is why wise men are so important to the society, because it is from them that true knowledge arises. All societies that prosper are those that invariably apply the science of wisdom to solve problems. And about this fact, the Bible has left great names, David, King Solomon, and the prophet Daniel, as mere examples of this spiritual truth. And as the Bible explains: "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm" Proverbs 13:20.
