What is going on with this page?
We have a strange plan involving Kiwis but don't panic it's not depraved or anything.
Back in August 2016 when @kiwideb and @sift666 set up our Steemit accounts we had the ingenious idea of setting up a page for my mum as well, to introduce her to the online world.
She took to Steemit like a swan to downhill skiing and apart from her introduction post that we helped her with, she never posted or logged into Steemit ever again.
From time to time we have wondered how to help get the Kiwi Steemit scene moving along because the bloody Aussies are spanking our arses.

Now we have a new plan - to set up the @mg-nz account as a New Zealand page.
It is black with ferns and a kiwi logo so it looks the part. That was step one.
Step two is to follow active Kiwis who are posing original NZ related content (rather than resteemers and Kiwis who haven't posted anything for months), and resteem some of the best Kiwi posts.
If you are looking to find other Kiwi Steemers, check out our follows list and hopefully you will find some new ones. And let us know if we have missed you out.
We also plan to update and repost some of our own NZ posts, to post NZ photos, and to start using the tag KIWI for NZ posts.
Hopefully this account will take off and become more popular, but this is all just the beginnings of an idea at this point.
The account was originally called @mg-nz because MG are my mum's initials. And it will be staying that way because we can't change the account name.
It turns out MG is an acronym for 78 different things, but none of them specifically relate to NZ. Except one, and even that is a stretch.

Back in the 70's MG sports cars were popular in NZ and there are still a few around. More English than Kiwi, but more Kiwi than Marvin Gaye or a machine gun

NZ has a proud history of great blogs and websites, but we could be doing a lot better here on Steemit - this is an attempt to get the ball rolling!

Yep. definitely 2 kiwi's in the pic one's a bird that doesn't fly, and the other is a furry delicious fruit called a Kiwifruit, or Kiwi. Of course New Zealanders also are known as Kiwi's too just in case any Steemians didn't know that. Cool huh.
Great idea guys! I will try and remember to tag any nz or kiwi related posts with the kiwi tag. Allbeit most of my posts are silver related, or steemlords/motu related, the last of which is being run by teamaustralia. I would agree that they have had quite the presence on steemit. Let’s get the other kiwis representing here on steemit too! Great initiative, seems you are following the few kiwis I know of!

Very cool. This is kinda what the 'communities' is supposed to be right? (whenever it gets delivered) So I guess we are ahead of the game now - just like the All Blacks ;-)
