Self respect is vitally important. Absolutely agree. And that includes teaching self love. I say "I love you and I love me" to my daughter. And then she replies the same back. She is 6. As she gets older, we will discuss more what having self esteem, self respect, and self love mean because having a good foundation in those areas is key to being happy
