Kerala Floods
The loss of life in the flood hit Kerala has increased to 324 .
The loss of life from 10 days of floods in the state has nearly trebled over the most recent 24 hours. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had arrived in Kochi the previous evening to commence a survey of flood hit regions. However, because of bad weather, he has postponed his aerial survey.
Till now, 42 Navy, 16 Army, 28 Coast Guard and 39 National Disaster Relief Force groups were occupied with rescue operations.
More than 3 lakh individuals are living in help camps over the state and a red alert was sounded in each of the 14 Kerala districts. Every one of the three wings of the military have been pressed into action for a massive rescue activity.
North and focal Kerala has been worst hit by the floods. Pathanamthitta locale in Central Kerala has been the worst influenced over the most recent 24 hours as a large number of individuals - students among others were caught in their homes in Ranni, Aranmula and Kozhencherry.
Kerala's government has portrayed the crises- one of the worst in decades as "extremely grave" and rescue operations are in progress to help thousands remain caught by floodwaters.
Cochin airplane terminal will stay close till August 26.
