No, he made me do it? No, you did it to yourself!

Capitol Hill has had to increase its security presence this week due to heightened tension over a judge's confirmation to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Let that sink in.

Anyone in his or her right mind watching the hysteria over the whole Kavanaugh affair must be alarmed by the lunacy that is unfolding in many quarters over this process. Today, I would like everyone to turn their collective gaze tot he closest mirror and think about how we're doing a good job ruining all of this ourselves.

As a legal professional, I would never wish to downplay the importance of SCOTUS (though as a libertarian, I sometimes lament it). That said, does any of it really justify this kind of behavior?

We are talking about a judge here. He is not the Antichrist. If there was something so fundamentally wrong with him (in comparison to the other trainwrecks in DC) no one would need to go to such lengths to convince the rest of us of the need to keep him from office. Trump would have already appointed a substitute nominee.

I'm pretty sure the reason why the hysteria has been necessary is because most people either do not care or do not see the reason for the panic that the moonbats have been stoking.

Ripping up protest signs. Harassing the families of republicans. Threatening Kavanaugh's family. A lot of people have absolutely LOST THEIR MINDS the individual whom they view as the real culprit, Donald J. Trump! I unfortunately cannot put it more delicately. At some point, it stops being about Trump and starts being about you.

Those who oppose Trump on the so called "Left" preach tolerance, diversity, respect and love, yet they do not exude any of these qualities when it comes to their political adversaries. People on the so called other side of the aisle never lost their minds to this degree over Obama, even when having to tolerate 8 years of him. All either of those guys did was go get elected. Seriously, how does the dislike of one politician or group give anyone the license to be violent, destructive, vulgar, dishonest, fraudulent (Feinstein, I mean you) or disingenuous (Flake, you're the man)? Seriously. Is there a chance in hell that this all ends well if people have allowed themselves to go this ridiculous?

We're doing it to ourselves. The response from the "other side" does not always rise well above the behavior of these leftists and misguided youth. People who have used the continuing presidency of Trump as license to act like total uncontrolled jerks have blown their cover. They can never again be taken seriously as champions of rights, tolerance or decency. What they can do though, is stop, look in the mirror, identify themselves as the culprits of their own behavior and then JUST STOP.
