jubba Airways Fokker F-50 plane crash Mogadishu, Somalia
Jubba Airways' Fokker 50 departed from Baidoa, Somalia, on a passenger flight to Mogadishu, Somalia. On board were 36 passengers and crew members in all. As it touched down at the airfield in Mogadishu, the plane overturned. All of the crew members and passengers were saved. The plane was obliterated.
The left wing fractured upon landing at the wing root and was abandoned. Next to the runway, the turboprop plane came to rest after rolling inverted. Firefighters had to put out the fires that started on the wing that was left behind.
