Jony Ive leaves Apple after almost 30 years: he will start his own business. End of an era

Apple officially announces that it will no longer have the now-known Sir Jony I ve as its Chief Design Officer who, after nearly 30 years, chose to leave his role. A decision which is not dictated by any comparison with Tim Cook's business but which instead expresses the willingness on the part of Apple's symbolic designer to develop his own independent company which will only include the business established by Steve Jobs among its primary clients.

"Jony is a unique figure in the world of design and his role in the awakening of Apple can not be overestimated, from the revolutionary iMac of 1998 to the unprecedented ambition of the iPhone and Apple Park, where he has recently put so much energy and care." Says Tim Cook, Apple's CEO. "Apple will continue to benefit from Jony's talents by working directly with him on exclusive projects and through the continuing work of the brilliant and enthusiastic design team he has constructed. I am pleased that our relationship continues to develop after many years of close cooperation and look forward to working with Jony for the future." Apple: what will change in the future?
Jony I ve is certainly one of the primary caricatures that has always been present in Apple, so it has always been called. After returning to the business in 1997, he was one of Steve Jobs ' most significant fellow adventurers. Work together well, but also to handle news or problems. I ve promotes the design of Apple's most significant products from the first iPhone to the iPod, as well as various Mac designs that end with the Apple Watch and the new Mac Pro presented in the recent Apple keynote. Not only products but also devices and it's the iOS 7 design novelty that totally redesigns in 2013 and that still characterizes the iPhone and iPad's operating system today. All projects that carry its most significant signature, even in size, such as Apple Park, which is the Cupertino company's present headquarters.

"I'm very proud of the lasting work we've done to create an unparalleled Apple design, process and culture team after nearly 30 years and countless projects. Today, it's stronger, more vibrant and more talented than anywhere in Apple's history," I ve said. "The team will certainly thrive under the excellent leadership of Evans, Alan and Jeff, who were among my closest collaborators. I have the utmost confidence in my fellow Apple designers, who remain my best friends, and I don't see the time to work with them for many years to come." Therefore, Jony I ve's decision comes as a surprise, even if it won't be a true goodbye to him. He won't be a Tim Cook and his business worker anymore, but will continue to work closely with Apple. I ve is going to create its own independent company, LoveForm, which is going to begin in 2020 and work with it for Cupertino.

"I ve will continue to work closely in his new company while pursuing personal projects, and on a series of projects with Apple," this is the note shared by Apple, which will therefore continue to benefit from I ve's genius in the future as well. Evans Hankey and Alan Dye, who have played a central role in the design of Apple products for years, will now report to the Chief Operating Officer of Apple, Jeff Williams.

In fact, however, at the end of the year, Jony I ve is preparing to leave her office in Apple Park, but an era of 30 years is coming to an end with him. It's the narrative voice of Apple's new product presentations and who now knows who's going to pass the voice, but above all the British I ve genius.
