AFC Indicate There Cheats on World Cup Qualification 2018
The Asian Football Federation (AFC) indicated there was cheating on some Asian Cup 2018 World Cup qualifiers. However, the AFC is reluctant to mention a suspected match.
"The AFC has started an investigation into the fraud report on the last Asian Cup 2018 World Cup qualifier matches that took place on 5 September 2017. Currently, the AFC is waiting for further reports before conducting an investigation," the AFC wrote on its official website.
"AFC will work with FIFA to report on what FIFA's jurisdiction is in. In June 2017, the AFC has affirmed to all members to respect the rules of neutrality," the release continued.
In its release, the AFC refused to name the party they suspected. However, the match between Japan to face Saudi Arabia on September 5, 2017 is suspected to be one of the matches included in the list of investigations.
