What to do post rejection to get a better Job?
Got a #job #rejection?
NOT A BIG DEAL. It happens to almost everyone.
What's more important is what you do immediately after?
- Send an email to the hiring manager thanking her or him for the time spent so far in the interview process.
- Ask for feedback, & if they've already given it to you, let them know which points you agree with and which ones you don't, and why.
- Attach your CV & let them know it's for their records, in case another position opens up in the future that would suit you better.
- Let them know what you learnt about yourself, & the company, from the interactions you've had so far.
- Wish them luck, & let them know you'll be following their progress.
It'll take 8-10 mins of your time, but will make a world of a difference. Not a lot of candidates do this, trust me.
The ones who do - stand out.
A few things can happen next:
- The hiring manager will take note of your professionalism & refer you to friends who might be hiring that you'd be a better fit for.
- They will indeed keep you in their records & reach out in the future knowing that you've possibly worked on flaws/weaknesses.
- The hiring manager may move to another company in the future where a position for you could come up.
#Professionalism & #Maturity go a long way.
