Choose between money & your favourite job.
What do we choose to do with our lives? Do we follow our passion by doing what we like and sacrifice the short-term earnings or do we choose a job that gets us more money up front but doesn’t suit us that much?
What’s the thing that gives us more satisfaction?
It is true, we live in a world that seems to be ruled by the power of money. We struggle to put up with countless bills and taxes and we often get frustrated when we realise we get “too much month left at the end of the money”.
Most people will choose money over passion just for such reasons, but there are quite a few that will take up a job that they find more appropriate for them, even if the wage is lower than in other fields they might be qualified for as well.
I am not going to try to influence you in any way, because I don’t think that it should be anyone’s matter but yours. I will just state the obvious and come up with a series of pros and cons regarding each of the two: money and passion.
Taking up a well-paid job will surely make your life easier. You will afford to go out more, buy the newest widgets and accessories and all that. But in the long run you’ll start to feel more and more unsatisfied and lost.
If the thing you have to do everyday of your life doesn’t suit you, the road to happiness will be a long one.
Going for a ‘dream job’, one that you would do with pleasure and out of passion, may not give you the possibility to buy everything you want, but you will for sure be more relaxed and at peace with yourself.
Choose a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.
In my opinion we should somehow meet the midway of the two, passion and money, mix business with pleasure.
You can always choose a job that you enjoy doing, as long as it covers your needs and even your wishes. That, of course, if swimming in money isn’t your definition of happiness.
In that case, go for the unpleasant yet well-paying job. It’s just a matter of perspective and expectations from life.
