I want to change my life

Hi guys!
I am 31 yo and French, I have a Phd in computational fluid dynamics and an engineer degree. I am looking for a stimulating job. As I am unemployed, I am learning machine learning at the moment. Is data science still a good field? Would you hire me(i have 7 years in massively parallel computation and i have worked the french nuclear agency in charge of nuclear waste storage)?
What would the best field for me?

      I know nothing about the French economy, or where you could find a job, but I think I desperately want to be your friend. I am currently also studying machine learning, and my atrocious French could use a fluent friend's help. Best of luck in your search though!
