BJJ Training Journal - 9/22/20 - Personal Best on my Breath Hold

I picked up a Pulse Oximeter to help me refine my breath hold.

My normal resting rate is 99% on the O2 level and a 55 beats per minute resting heart rate.

My breathe up routine takes me to 100% and 70 beats per minute after ten breaths.

I held my breath and relaxed. I watched my heart rate go back under 60 until the contractions started.

Once the contractions started I watched the O2 level drop. Once it got below 80 is started dropping rapidly.

It got as low as 55% and then I had to breathe and I stopped the clock for a new personal best of 3:33.

It's going to be a long road to 4 minutes.

Interesting. Does breath holding training assist you while being held in certain jujitsu holds?

Yes it definitely helps my cardio but not being stuck in holds.
