Yeah, it's a very simple example but powerful in enabling understanding of how a blockchain works
You can do anything in JS. It might be not the best choice for every task but the language is very powerful and has an insane amount of libraries too (npmjs.com).

Ah, this video is the one that allowed me to clearly understand blockchain just a few weeks ago. I highly recommend it, and the channel. Even if you aren't a developer like javascript @tdre, it really helps illustrate both the simplicity and power of blockchain as a concept.
