- Surround yourself with positive people
Try your best to let go of negative people in your life who do not want to see you
succeed or be happy. Who do not motivate you to go out there and make your
dreams come true. Reach out to your friends and family who are always there to
listen to you and not judge you, who will give you their honest opinion and who
will push you to achieve your goals. Stay connected to those positive people in
your life who you feel content, yourself and secure with. This will help you live a
more positive life.
Negative people will always want others around them to be negative as well. You
are better than this and the moment that you realize that these kind of people do
not deserve your love and time. You will be better off and will start living a more
positive life.
- Hold on tight to your faith
For me personally having faith has helped me have a more fulfilling and positive
life. It gives me strength and motivation and I love it. Hold on tight to your faith
because it will keep you humble, blessed and happy!
- Have a hobby
I truly believe that you need a hobby, a distraction of your everyday life. You need
to do something that makes you happy and that doesn’t feel like work and that
doesn’t give you stress. Having a hobby will help you feel you, specially for us
moms. We nurture our family, we give, we worry, and we spend the whole day
making sure everyone is happy that we at times forget about ourselves. Having a
hobby will make you feel happy and I think is healthy to have something that is
for you and only you.

Spending time with the people that you love will always put a smile on your face.
Your family inspires you to work harder everyday to give them a better future,
your family inspires you to never give up on your goals and dreams, no matter
how big it may seem. Your children will always inspire you to be a better
person, to live a more positive life because you want them to live a more positive
life themselves. Your family is already helping you live that life.
- Focus on what makes you happy
Try your best to always focus on what makes you happy. Focus less on the
negativity and focus more on the positivity things. If you can’t get a recipe right
the first time, don’t say that you’re never going to learn how to cook but instead
say that you will not give up until you get the recipe right. Have a positive
mindset and you will achieve more things than you might think.

I truly love reading motivational books because it makes me happy, simple as
that. I love books that helps me have a positive mindset and truly inspires me to
be the best person that I can be.
[19/01 1:02 pm] FREEDOM: 7. Yell less
Oh yelling, don’t all moms do this? yes, we do and maybe we will never stop
completely but we can definitely limit the amount that we yell. Just find ways that
will help you stop yelling and focus on what works for you. Limiting the amount
of yelling will open a window of positivity because you will refocus your energy
on finding ways to fix the issue. When I yell at my kids, my day becomes longer,
I get more inpatient and I’m not happy at all. This is negative energy and we do
not want this. Yell less and be more positive.
- Don’t compare yourself to others
This one is a biggie isn’t it? I know I have struggled with this before and I am
happy to say that I am getting better at just focusing on me. It feels liberating
and I now live a more positive life because of it. This is no joke, STOP right now,
stop comparing yourself to others, to your co-worker, other moms, your cousin,
whoever it is that you’re comparing yourself to. STOP right now! It is not healthy,
it will break you down and you will never feel enough, complete or happy.
Instead
Work on yourself, find ways that will help you stop this vicious cycle and just do
your best to only focus on you. On your life, know that you are doing a great job,
you will get where you want to be and you will be just fine. Not everyone will
have the same success, the same house, the same career and you know what
it’s okay. As long as you are happy, you feel accomplished, you’re working on
achieving your goals, you are doing things for you and your family. You will be
okay!
The minute you stop comparing yourself to others, that’s the minute you will
start living a more positive and meaningful life.
[19/01 1:03 pm] FREEDOM: 10. Laugh more
Laughing is so important to do because if you don’t smile or laugh, you will not
feel or be happy. You will not feel like you’re having a good and positive day.
Laughing makes everything better and will definitely help you towards achieving a
more positive life.
Taking sometime to play with your kids can help tremendously. You don’t always
need to play with them, you can simply have a conversation with them and
believe me you will find yourself smiling!
- Listen to inspirational podcasts
I’m new at this whole podcast thing but I can’t wait to find a few good and
inspirational podcasts that I can relax and listen to. I love the idea of listening to
someone speak because it feels like you are right next to them , you know? so I
recommend listening to positive, uplifting podcast and join the club.

- Give back
You can give back in so many ways and you will feel amazing. Living a more
positive life is not only about you but about helping and uplifting others in the
process.
For example:
The clothes that doesn’t fit my kids anymore is given away to family members
that need it or we donate it. There are so many people that are less fortunate
than us and we need to help them.
- Help others
Is there anything more rewarding than giving back and helping others? It
automatically help you live a more positive life and fill your heart with love. Help
others in any way that you can and you will not regret it.
You can help others by listening, giving advice on something, helping someone
with a recipe and the list can go on. Helping others does not necessarily have to
be something big it can be the smallest thing and people will still appreciate it!
Simply ask someone “Do you need help”, it can make a difference
- Don’t let the sad news you read and see on T.V consume you
I do not have cable in my house but I do have internet. I for some reason get
sucked into reading all of these horrible and sad news that really take a toll on
me. Specially news about abusive parents, it just get me so worked up, you
know? It’s bad and we both should stop it or at least limit it. I for once will try to
stop reading these kind of news because it gives me anxiety and I can’t deal with
it.
Instead of reading sad, horrible news, focus on reading positive and uplifting
ones. Read and watch something that will make you laugh, that will inspire you
and that will leave you with positive and happy thoughts!
- Take things with a grain of salt
Try your best not to make something small, bigger than what it is. Relax, take it
easy and focus on something else that is worth your time.
For example:
You child spills something by mistake on your new rug, you obviously get mad
and start yelling at your child. Yes, these things happen but sometimes is best to
just say ” it’s okay but please don’t let it happen again”. Than to be angry, to
start yelling and be miserable the whole day. Just take it with a grain of salt and
move on happily.
