【京都旅】登録有形文化財の銭湯「船岡温泉」

I went to nostalgic Sento "FUNAOKA ONSEN" in Kyoto. It is called "KING OF SENTO". (Sento is japanese public bath.) It is Sento of registered tangible cultural property. Here is a very rare place. This building was built as a traditional Japanese Inn in 1923. It seems that local people are loved as Sento now.

京都にあるノスタルジックな銭湯「船岡温泉」に行ってきました。別名「KING OF SENTO」。全国に数箇所しかない国の登録有形文化財に指定された銭湯です。大正12年に料理旅館として建てられた建物ですが、現在は銭湯として地元の人たちに愛されているようです。

Antique style colorful tiles called "Japanese majolica style" are spread all over the bathroom. That sight is amazing. (The tile in this picture is a tile at the shoe box place because It is not permitted to take pictures in bathrooms / dressing rooms.)

「和製マジョリカスタイル」とよばれるアンティーク調のカラフルなタイルが浴室一面に敷き詰められた光景は圧巻です。(浴室・脱衣所は撮影禁止なので、この写真は下駄箱のところのタイルです。)

Something was enshrined before the entrance of the dressing room. But I could not confirm what it was because the corridor was narrow. haha

脱衣所入り口前には何かが祀られていました。廊下がせまくて見えなかったなぁ( ；∀；)

This is a Ranma that made Shanghai Incident a motif. Ranma is an openwork screen above the sliding partitions between two rooms. It is made very delicately, I was fascinated by craftsmanship.

上海事変をモチーフにしたという欄間。とても繊細で職人技に見とれてしまいます。

There are only such pictures, I'm sorry. There is a large Tengu sculpture on the ceiling of the dressing room. Do you understand?

こんな写真で申し訳ないですが、脱衣所の天井には大きな天狗の彫刻が施されています。分かりますかね。。。

Regarding the bathroom, I felt it was a relatively modern structure. The outdoor bath of the cypress bathtub is made like a traditional Japanese landscape garden. Koi fish was swimming in the pond. The hot water here is not a hot spring, but it was a very good scenery :))

浴室に関しては、比較的現代的な構造に感じました。檜浴槽の露天風呂は日本庭園のようなつくりになっており、池には大きな鯉が泳いでいました^ ^恐らくお湯は温泉では無いと思うのですが、とても良き景観に癒されました。

I only drink water after bathing. However I drank coffee milk.

普段、お風呂上がりには水しか飲まないのですが、旅先だとせっかくだからということでコーヒー牛乳を飲んでしまいました( ^ω^ )

うーん、やはりお風呂とSteemitは相性悪いか・・お風呂の写真撮りたかったですw

I took a walk after bathing.

お風呂上がりに散策。

This area is hot spring resort and there are many shops with atmosphere.

このあたりはプチ温泉街になっていて雰囲気の良いお店がたくさん並んでいました。

I intended to go to a Sento cafe "Sarasa-Nishijin". But The night was late and I could not go there. Here is the spot where you can see tiles of "Japanese majolica style". I would like to go there next time.

There seems to be many other attractions in this "Funaoka" area. How about adding to the plan of Kyoto trip !!

銭湯カフェ(また銭湯w)の「さらさ西陣」に行く予定だったのですが、夜が遅くて行くことができませんでした。コチラも「和製マジョリカスタイル」のタイルが拝めるスポットです。次回、行ってみたいと思います♨︎
