クミスクチンの葉茎を乾燥させてつくるお茶は、沖縄では『うっちん（ウコン）茶』『グァバ茶』と並んで『三大薬草茶』と呼ばれているほどポピュラーなものです。
主に腎臓に効能があると言われています。
