One of my biggest regrets when I lived in Tokyo was that I never made it to an Onsen. I hear its a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

@osm0sis, thank you. Hope you get the chance to visit and stay at an Onsen, especially one located near the sea or in the mountains. I'm far from an expert, but I guess most visitors to Japan need amazing views (or monkeys) to really get excited by hot springs. For me, living and working here - going to an Onsen means a relaxing weekend away with the family
